Chapter 3
I did not resist anymore.
For one, she offered a lot of money. Secondly, I did not really dislike her advances.
She kept going at it for almost half an hour.
My back almost snapped.
After that, she smoked a cigarette and fell silent.
I rubbed my back and wondered to myself.
‘Isn’t she married? Why is she acting so desperate as though she’s a widow who hasn’t been with anyone for years? Is her husband not up to the task?’
A lot of questions ran through my head.
“Matthew! Matthew!”
Just as I was lost in my own thoughts, the walkie-talkie next to my clothes beeped.
I came back to my senses and grabbed the walkie-talkie.
“What’s wrong, Mr. Jones?”
Mr. Jones yelled frantically, “Get the VIP out through the secret tunnel! Someone’s coming up!”
I panicked and broke into a cold sweat.
Every room on the top floor had a secret tunnel for the clients to leave in case of emergencies.
I did not hesitate. I walked toward the corner of the wall and pressed a hidden button.
The painting on the wall slipped open and a secret door appeared.
“Let’s go!”
I grabbed Rosaline, who was still in her birthday suit and walked through the secret door.
Rosaline narrowed her eyes and stared at me.
It was only then that I realized what had happened. I was supposed to be blind!
How could a blind person find the secret door in the room so easily? How could a blind person see around the room?
I was exposed!
But I had no other choice. I heard an angry roar outside the room.
“Rosaline! Get out here!”
I closed the secret door and hid behind it with Rosaline.
“Where the hell are you? Rosaline! I know you’re in here!”
The man kept yelling.
I clutched Rosaline’s hand nervously and forgot to let it go.
Rosaline stayed quiet too. After the man left, she said coldly, “So, you’re not blind.”
“I…”
Just when I was about to respond, she slapped me hard across my face.
“This stays between us. Understood?”
She glared at me.
I nodded instinctively.
She glared at me once more before stepping out of the secret door. She got dressed and left.
My cheek was tingling in pain. I was worried.
She had found out my secret. ‘What should I do?’ I thought.
If she told my boss about it, I would not be able to work here anymore.
I left the room in worry as I waited for my boss’s decision.
However, my boss did not look for me at all.
Mr. Jones did look for me once, but he asked if we were caught.
‘Didn’t Rosaline tell my boss that I was pretending to be blind all this time?’ I wondered.
I was puzzled.
However, after thinking about it, I had guessed her reason.
I had seen her face. She was probably afraid that I would seek revenge if she reported me to my boss.
Rosaline did not come to the massage center for the next few days.
I performed the service on other VIPs, and they all praised me for my skills.
Some even suggested more intimate services, but I turned them down every time.
I was still feeling uneasy about what happened with Rosaline.
I would die if I got caught in the act.
They had their own upper-class social circle. Word soon spread about my skills among a lot of people.
More and more clients requested my services.
Soon, I was very busy. I had no choice but to move onto an appointment-only system.
My boss was extremely pleased by that.
His business had doubled because of my services ever since I joined his massage center.
He treated me well. He fulfilled whatever requests I had.
My income also grew significantly.
My wife asked me how I had earned so much in the past two months. I lied to her and told her that I only handled rich clients lately, and this was the commission that I got for it.
When I saw Rosaline again, it was at our company’s annual dinner.
She was wearing a low-cut evening dress, and her hand rested on the arm of a fifty-year-old middle-aged man.
‘Is that Rosaline’s husband?’ I thought.
My eyes widened in shock.
Was he the one who had barged into the massage center to look for her?
This also made me realize why Rosaline was so desperate.
The old man did not really look to be in good shape. It was no wonder he could not satisfy her needs.
It made sense why Rosaline went for massages frequently.
At first, I thought that I would not bump into Rosaline since there were so many people at the annual dinner.
However, during the lucky draw, she drew my number!
“The first prize goes to Matthew Smith from the sales department. Let’s invite him to the stage. Ms. Dunne will be giving him the prize!”
The host called out my name.
I felt a shiver run down my spine when I saw that all eyes were on me.
I saw Rosaline looking at me from the stage. Her face darkened when she saw me. I wanted the ground to swallow me up.
I had no choice but to go onto the stage.
I kept my head low the entire time as I walked toward Rosaline.
She glanced coldly at me and whispered so softly that only two of us could hear the words, “No. 888 masseur? Blind masseur? Matthew Smith? Well, well.”
